OJAS-2K26 Fresher’s Programme Celebrates Talent, Culture, Confidence, Diversity, and New Beginnings

Faculty of Agricultural Sciences & Allied Industries Welcomed the New Batch on 18 September, 2026 with Enthusiasm and Cultural Grandeur
The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences & Allied Industries (FASAI), Rama University organized its much-awaited Fresher’s Programme “OJAS-2K26” on 18 September, 2026 with great enthusiasm and vibrant participation to warmly welcome the newly admitted students and provide them with an engaging beginning to their university journey. The programme commenced with the auspicious Lamp Lighting Ceremony, symbolizing the removal of darkness and the beginning of a journey guided by knowledge, wisdom, and enlightenment. This was followed by a soulful Ganesh Vandana, presented gracefully by Miss Shreya Bharti, Second Year, seeking the blessings of Lord Ganesha for the academic and personal growth of the students.
The dignitaries and Deans representing various faculties of the University were formally welcomed by Dr. Aneeta Yadav, Dean, FASAI, Rama University. In her welcome address, she extended her warm greetings and best wishes to the newly admitted students and encouraged them to actively participate in academic, co-curricular, and extracurricular opportunities available at the University.
The cultural segment began with a captivating Group Dance Performance of Second Year girls. The celebration then moved into an energetic cultural showcase, with students presenting a variety of music, dance, and dramatic performances reflecting the richness and diversity of Indian culture.
One of the major attractions of the programme was the Ramp Walk based on the theme “Across the Globe” Students represented the cultural traditions, attire, and heritage of different Countries and their immense cultural diversity.
The newly admitted students enthusiastically participated in the self-introduction round, where they presented themselves with confidence, creativity, and individuality. The senior students also performed special acts that added energy and entertainment to the event, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere between the juniors and seniors.
As part of the talent recognition segment, students were appreciated for their outstanding performances in different categories. Ananya Sahu was recognized for Best Dance, while Suraj Kumar received the title for Best Poetry. Nayan was awarded for Best Singing, and Shalu was recognized for her performance in the Ramp Show. The title of Best Entertainer was awarded to Shiva Pal for his lively and engaging performance.
The programme also featured special personality titles that celebrated the confidence, charm, personality, and enthusiasm of the newcomers. Mithilesh Kumar was awarded the title of Mr. Handsome, while Prachi Gupta received the title of Miss Charming.
The most awaited moment of the celebration was the announcement of the Mr. Fresher and Miss Fresher. Santosh Kumar was crowned Mr. Fresher, while Supriya Dutt was crowned Miss Fresher. The titles recognized their confidence, personality, talent, presentation, and enthusiastic participation throughout the programme.
A Prize Distribution Ceremony was organized to felicitate the students for their remarkable performances and participation. The recognition encouraged the students to continue developing their talents and actively contribute to the cultural and academic life of the University.
The programme concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Vinay J. Silas, Head, FASAI, Rama University. He expressed sincere gratitude to the dignitaries, Deans, faculty members, organizing team, senior students, and newly admitted students for their valuable presence, support, and contribution towards making OJAS-2K26 a memorable occasion.
The OJAS-2K26 Fresher’s Programme successfully created a vibrant and welcoming environment for the new students. Through its blend of academic interaction, cultural performances, talent recognition, and student engagement, the event strengthened the bond between juniors, seniors, and faculty members. The celebration marked a joyful and memorable beginning to the new students' academic journey at Rama University and reflected the spirit of talent, unity, diversity, and togetherness within the FASAI family.
