On World No Tobacco Day, Rama University's Faculty of Paramedical Sciences spreads the message "Choose Health, Quit Tobacco"

On May 31, 2023, the Faculty of Paramedical Sciences at Rama University contributed up an outstanding celebration to honour “World No Tobacco Day” under the direction of Principal and Dean, the esteemed Dr. Brijendra Nigam. This event took to raise awareness of the importance of selecting nutritious foods over cigarettes and the harmful effects of tobacco and tobacco products on general health. With the slogan "We need food, not tobacco," the programme was effective in spreading awareness, motivating people to lead smoke-free lifestyles, and assisting young people in giving up their dangerous habit.
Under the exceptional coordination of Dr. Gulwish Sadique from the Faculty of Paramedical Sciences, along with the dedicated efforts of Dr. Nidhi Agarwal, Dr. Nidhi Shukla, Dr. Manjit Kumar, Dr. Minhaj Tahir, Mrs. Swastika Singh Chandel, Mr. Satyendra Sachan, Ms. Meghna Verma, and Mrs. Kirti Gaur, the event was a resounding success. Students from all departments of the Bachelor's and diploma programs enthusiastically participated in the event.
The program featured a range of activities aimed at educating and empowering attendees. The event commenced with an inspiring speech by the Principal & Dean, Dr. Brijendra Nigam, who highlighted the significance of the occasion. Subsequently, distinguished faculty members from various departments delivered insightful lectures, providing attendees with comprehensive knowledge on the harmful consequences of tobacco use and the benefits of a tobacco-free life.
One of the event's highlights was the captivating Nukkad Natak (street play), which effectively conveyed the message of the dangers associated with tobacco consumption. The performance received great applause from the audience, showcasing the creativity and talent of the participating students. Additionally, the program included a symbolic mass cremation of all tobacco products, symbolizing the collective commitment to eradicate this harmful habit from society.
The World No Tobacco Day event organized by Faculty of Paramedical Sciences successfully raised awareness about the adverse effects of tobacco and motivated individuals to support young people in leading tobacco-free lives. By choosing the theme "We need food, not tobacco," the organizers emphasized the significance of making healthy choices for a better future.
