University Fraternity Comes Together to Celebrate 80 Years of India’s Independence
Rama University, Kanpur, celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India on 15 August 2026 with patriotic fervour, enthusiasm, and a strong sense of national pride. The programme was organized in front of the Auditorium, Rama University, Mandhana, bringing together faculty members, staff, and students to commemorate the historic occasion and honour the spirit of India's freedom struggle.The celebration commenced with the gathering which reflected the collective enthusiasm of the university fraternity towards celebrating the nation's Independence Day. The university extended a warm welcome of Honourable Chancellor Dr. Suraj B.S. Kushwah Sir, Respected Vice chancellor, Dr. Janardhana A.B.J., all the dignitaries, faculty, students and staff of Rama University.The National Flag was unfurled with due respect and solemnity. The flag hoisting was followed by the Guard of Honor and the National Anthem, creating a deeply patriotic and dignified atmosphere across the campus. The National Anthem was observed with due reverence by all participants. After that the tricolour balloons were released, symbolizing freedom, unity, peace, and the aspirations of a progressive India. The ceremony was followed by an address by the Hon'ble Chancellor Dr. Suraj B.S. Kushwah Sir wherein the gathering was addressed on the significance of Independence Day, patriotism, national responsibility, and the role of students and educational institutions in contributing to the development of the nation. In his words of wisdom sir told that we must keep dreaming and work hard to fulfil our dreams. If we can visualize a thing, we can definitely do it. Following the formal proceedings sweets were distributed among the faculty members, students and staff as part of the celebration. The Independence Day celebration at Rama University concluded on a note of patriotism, unity, and national pride. This programme provided an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to come together and remember the sacrifices of India's freedom fighters while reaffirming their commitment towards the nation's progress.
