06 Jun 2026
The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Allied Industries, Rama University, organized a Plantation Drive on 5 June 2026 to commemorate World Environment Day under the theme, “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future.”
The programme was organized at the Rama University Campus from 10:00 AM onwards with enthusiastic participation from faculty members, students, staff members, and volunteers from different faculites. The event commenced with a brief address highlighting the significance of World Environment Day in fostering environmental responsibility and emotional connection with nature.
During the programme, participants planted a variety of indigenous and environmentally beneficial saplings across designated locations on the university campus. The plantation activity emphasized the role of trees in maintaining ecological balance, enhancing biodiversity, improving air quality, preventing soil erosion, and mitigating the adverse effects of climate change. Faculty members encouraged students to adopt sustainable environmental practices and take responsibility for the care and maintenance of the planted saplings. The plantation drive created awareness regarding environmental protection and the collective responsibility of society towards building a greener future.
The Plantation Drive under World Environment Day 2026 effectively conveyed the message of environmental stewardship and inspired the university community to work collectively towards a sustainable and climate-resilient future.
