Poshak Aahar Vitran (Round 16) Bolsters Tuberculosis Patients at UHTC Navsheel Dhaam

In an ongoing commitment to the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP), the Department of Community Medicine at Rama Medical College Hospital & Research Centre (RMCHRC) held the sixteenth round of "Poshak Aahar Vitran" at Urban Health Training Center (UHTC) Navsheel Dhaam.This initiative, in line with NTEP guidelines, aimed to support and monitor the treatment progress of eleven adopted Tuberculosis patients.
The event, conducted on 27th February 2024, marked the distribution of nutritious support to five remaining TB patients. Led by Dr.Proff. Anju Gahlot, Professor & HOD of the Department of Community Medicine, the session welcomed Dr. Poonam Kushwaha, Assistant Professor, who engaged with patients to assess their treatment journey and health status.
During the session, patients underwent comprehensive examinations, including weight assessments and clinical evaluations.

The distribution of "Poshak Aahar" facilitated their nutritional needs, complementing the rigorous TB treatment regimen. Moreover, discussions on medication adherence, diagnostic tests, and hygiene practices underscored holistic patient care.
The presence of esteemed dignitaries including Dr. R. P. Gupta (M.O. UHTC), Dr. Nilanjan Dam (PG), and dedicated interns from the Department of Community Medicine highlighted the collaborative effort towards TB eradication. The event concluded with gratitude towards all involved parties, emphasizing the collective resolve to combat Tuberculosis and ensure patient well-being.
