Court Observation Programme for Law Students
The Faculty of Juridical Sciences organized a Court Visit Programme for Law Students at the District & Sessions Court, Kanpur on 06 February 2026, under the guidance of Dr. Praveen Kumar Mall, Dean (FJS). The visit was aimed at providing students with practical exposure to the functioning of the judicial system and bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world legal practice.
The programme was effectively coordinated by Ms. Riddhi Tripathi, Head of the Department, Dr. Kaneez Fatima, Faculty Coordinator, and Advocate Amit Singh. During the visit, students had the opportunity to observe live courtroom proceedings, which enabled them to gain a deeper understanding of court decorum, procedural aspects, and judicial conduct. Witnessing actual cases in progress enhanced their comprehension of how legal principles studied in classrooms are applied in practice.
Interaction with legal professionals proved to be particularly valuable, as it allowed students to clarify doubts, understand professional ethics, and gain insights into the day-to-day functioning of courts. This firsthand exposure to the justice delivery system significantly enriched the students’ academic learning and practical awareness.
The students who participated in the court visit included Anuj Chaturvedi, Nitin Yadav, Lavisha Agarwal, Anvesha Yadav, Anushka Sharma, Mohd. Sameer, Meenakshi, Kavyanshika Singh, Raj Sahu, Rohit Kumar Yadav, Sumit Kumar, Adarsh Yadav, and Keshav Tiwari.
Overall, the court visit was a highly informative and meaningful learning experience. Students gained firsthand knowledge of courtroom proceedings, developed a better understanding of legal practice, and enhanced their analytical and observational skills. The visit successfully enriched their academic learning through experiential exposure.
The Faculty of Juridical Sciences expresses sincere gratitude to Dr. Kaneez Fatima and Advocate Amit Singh for their guidance and support in organizing this valuable academic activity. The students also conveyed their appreciation to the faculty members and expressed enthusiasm for more such experiential learning opportunities in the future.
