FJS Initiative to Build Responsible and Accountable Law Students: Know the Rules
The Faculty of Juridical Sciences, Rama University, successfully organized an Awareness Programme on Discipline & Conduct titled “Know the Rules” on 22 April 2026, at Kalpana Hostel at 03:04 PM. The programme was conducted to create awareness among students regarding the importance of discipline, ethical behaviour, and adherence to institutional norms. It aimed to build a responsible and respectful academic environment within the campus.
The event was coordinated by Ms. Nivedita Rai, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Juridical Sciences, who efficiently planned and executed the programme. The session focused on sensitizing students to the significance of maintaining discipline and upholding ethical standards both within and beyond the university premises.
Objective:
The primary objective of the programme was to promote responsible behaviour, ethical awareness, and a disciplined academic culture among students. It also aimed to:
- Educate students about institutional rules and regulations
- Encourage adherence to academic and behavioural standards
- Develop a sense of accountability and professionalism
- Foster respect for university policies and community values
Programme Details:
During the session, students were informed about various aspects of discipline, including attendance norms, examination conduct, hostel regulations, use of university facilities, and general behavioural expectations. Emphasis was placed on the role of discipline in shaping professional competence and personal integrity, particularly in the field of legal education.
The programme was interactive, allowing students to share their views and clarify doubts regarding rules and regulations. The coordinator highlighted that discipline should not be perceived as a restriction, but as a guiding framework that ensures a safe, respectful, and productive academic environment.
