A significant academic and research partnership was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the ICAR–Indian Institute of Pulses Research (IIPR), Kanpur and RAMA University, Kanpur. The event marked an important milestone in strengthening institutional collaboration aimed at advancing agricultural education, research, and student development.
The ceremony brought together officials, scientists, faculty members, and students from both institutions, highlighting their collective commitment to promoting high-quality research and academic exchange. ICAR-IIPR, a premier research institution under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi, and RAMA University, a multidisciplinary higher education institution, agreed to work jointly in areas of mutual academic and scientific interest.
The MoU aims to facilitate students’ training, postgraduate research, and collaborative research initiatives, particularly in basic and applied sciences. It will enable postgraduate scholars from RAMA University to undertake research under the guidance of expert scientists at ICAR-IIPR. The collaboration also focuses on organizing joint seminars, workshops, conferences, and sharing research materials, publications, and resources across departments.
During the ceremony, representatives from both parties emphasized the importance of partnerships in promoting cutting-edge research and innovation. The agreement aligns with the guidelines issued by ICAR for strengthening academic-research linkages across National Agricultural Research System (NARS) institutions and universities. This MoU is expected to create long-term academic bridges, promote quality research culture, and enhance opportunities for students and faculty through exposure to advanced research facilities and interdisciplinary collaboration. The partnership will contribute significantly to agricultural advancements, particularly in the area of pulses research, and support the development of skilled human resources for the agricultural sector.
The event concluded with mutual appreciation and a shared vision for impactful academic and scientific cooperation in the years to come.
