Rama University Celebrates World Oral Health Day 2026 with Mega Screening and Awareness Initiative
02 Apr 2026
World Oral Health Day is observed around the world every year on 20th March. The theme for World Oral Health Day 2026 is "A happy mouth is a happy life". It conceptualizes that oral health is essential for overall health, happiness, and quality of life, encouraging lifelong oral care.
Rama University's Department of Public Health Dentistry took the initiative to conduct oral health screening for faculty members and students of Rama University from 16th March, 2026 to 31st March, 2026. A Mega oral health checkup camp was organized to screen and provide treatment for oral health problems. Almost 1524 patients were screened. Students and faculty members requiring treatments like: oral prophylaxis, fixed orthodontics, restorations, root canal treatment, implants, fixed and removable prosthesis etc. were referred to our college to avail these treatments at discounted rates. Oral health education was imparted to the patients at the screening site followed by demonstration of correct method of toothbrushing.
A rally was also carried out to spread awareness about the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene and to educate people regarding prevention of oral diseases. Around 25 participants carried banners and posters displaying messages such as: ‘Brush Twice a day’, ‘Say no to tobacco’, ‘Healthy Mouth, Healthy Body’.
This initiative focused on both screening and treatment and it effectively contributed to improving oral health status and reinforcing the importance of preventive dental care.
