Rama University Celebrates World Physiotherapy Week Through Competitions, Sports, Culture and Cardiovascular Awareness

Department of Physiotherapy, Faculty of Allied and Healthcare Sciences, Rama University organised a 5-day event on the occasion of World Physiotherapy week starting from 8th September 2026 to 12th September 2026 between 9 am to 1 pm on the theme “Role of Physiotherapy and Physical Activity in the Prevention, Management and Rehabilitation of Cardiovascular Disease and Stroke”. The Physiotherapy Week was coordinated by Dr. Nidhi Shukla and convened by Dr. Nidhi Agarwal under guidance of Dr. Brijendra Nigam, Principal and Dean, Faculty of Allied and Healthcare Sciences. The event included a series of extra-curricular activities and cultural event. On 8th September, a debate competition was hosted themed “Is Artificial Intelligence impacting the health of our cardiovascular system?” On 9th September, a poster competition was hosted themed at “Importance of Physiotherapy in Cardiovascular Physiology”. On 10th September, a body painting competition was hosted which was themed at marking important landmarks over the body of participants. on 11th September, sports events were organised for students which included sports activities like Planks, Push-ups, Arm Wrestling, Agility Testing and Rope Skipping. On 12th September, a cultural event was organised at the Auditorium, Rama Medical College which included events like Zoomba dances, Physioball dances, PNF Dances, Yogic Dance and solo performances by Agamya Yadav and Vaishnavi Sonkar. One skit and a short film was also performed by students of the department along with prize distribution for the previous competitions. The Chief Guests for the event included Dr. R. Sujatha (Principal, Rama Medical College), Dr. S. Mani (Chief Medical Superintendent, Rama Hospital and Research Centre), Dr. Manisha Nigam (HOD, Emergency Dept., Rama Medical College). The event included a total of 300 students as audience among which 100 students participated in various activities/ competitions.
