Rama University Commences Short-Term Certificate Programme on Agribusiness Management for Future Professionals

Hour Industry-Oriented Programme Focuses on Agribusiness Management, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Business Development and Skill Enhancement for Future Agribusiness Professionals.
The 30-hour Short-Term Certificate Course on “Agribusiness Management” commenced at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Allied Industries (FASAI), Rama University, Kanpur, with the objective of developing industry-oriented knowledge, managerial skills, entrepreneurial competencies, and practical understanding among students and other participants interested in the rapidly growing agribusiness sector.
The Programme began with the Welcome address by Dr. Aneeta Yadav, Dean, FASAI followed by the Expert session of Dr. Ashish Srivastava, Assistant Professor, Agriculture Economics, FASAI The Programme featured an, who provided participants with valuable insights into the concept, scope, and emerging opportunities in Agribusiness Management. He highlighted the increasing importance of professional management in agriculture and explained how modern agribusiness integrates agricultural production with input supply, processing, value addition, marketing, finance, technology, and entrepreneurship.
The opening session emphasized that agriculture is no longer limited to primary production and that significant opportunities exist across the entire agribusiness value chain. Participants were oriented towards understanding market demand, efficient resource management, value addition, supply-chain development, branding, digital marketing, and customer-oriented business strategies.
A key focus of the programme is to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and the practical requirements of the agribusiness industry. Participants are being oriented towards the professional competencies required for managing modern agribusiness enterprises, including business planning, market analysis, financial management, agricultural marketing, supply-chain management, entrepreneurship, and enterprise development.
The programme also focuses on the growing opportunities in agri-startups, food processing, agricultural input businesses, farm enterprises, e-commerce, agri-finance, digital agriculture, and value-added agricultural products. Through technical sessions, practical activities, case studies, discussions, and industry-oriented learning, participants will gain a better understanding of how successful agribusiness enterprises are established and managed.
Special emphasis is being given to agribusiness entrepreneurship and business model development, enabling participants to identify viable business opportunities and understand the essential components of developing a sustainable agribusiness venture. The course also aims to familiarize participants with emerging trends and career opportunities in the agribusiness sector.
The commencement of the Short-Term Certificate Course on “Agribusiness Management” marks an important step towards developing job-ready, entrepreneurial, and industry-oriented agricultural professionals capable of contributing effectively to the growth and transformation of the agricultural and agribusiness sector.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and participants and provided a strong foundation for the upcoming technical, practical, and interactive sessions of the course. Through this initiative, the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Allied Industries, Rama University continues its efforts towards skill development, entrepreneurship promotion, industry exposure, and enhancing the employability of agriculture graduates.
