Rama University Conducts POSH Awareness Programme to Foster Safe and Inclusive Workplace Culture

Gender Sensitization and POSH Awareness Programme
The Faculty of Juridical Sciences, in collaboration with the Human Resources Department, Rama University, organized a (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Awareness and Sensitization Programme on 2 June 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM in Room No. 203, Second Floor, V.C. Building, for the staff members of the University.
The primary objective of the programme was to create awareness regarding the provisions of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, and to promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace culture. The programme aimed to educate employees about their rights and responsibilities, grievance redressal mechanisms, and the importance of maintaining dignity, equality, and professionalism in the workplace.
The programme was conducted under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Praveen Kumar Mall, Dean, Faculty of Juridical Sciences. The event was coordinated by Ms. Diksha Taneja, Assistant Professor, while Ms. Garima Tiwari (Nodal Officer). Ms. Riidhi Tripathi, Head of Department, also graced the occasion with her presence.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by the Dean and the Head of Department, who emphasized the significance of fostering a workplace environment based on mutual respect, equality, and professional ethics. Their remarks reaffirmed the University's commitment to ensuring a safe and harassment-free environment for all employees.
An introductory session on the POSH Act, 2013 was delivered by Ms. Diksha Taneja, who highlighted the objectives, scope, and significance of the legislation in ensuring workplace safety and gender sensitivity. Ms. Garima Tiwari, Nodal Officer, further emphasized the role of awareness and sensitization in preventing workplace harassment and promoting a culture of respect and accountability.
The technical session was conducted by Ms. Priyanshi Shukla and Mr. Mohd Shad, who provided a comprehensive overview of the key provisions of the POSH Act. The session covered the definition and various forms of sexual harassment, rights and responsibilities of employees, complaint and redressal procedures, the role of the Internal Committee, and preventive measures for maintaining a secure work environment. The session was highly interactive and encouraged active participation and discussion among the attendees.
Approximately 60 staff members benefited from the programme. The participants appreciated the initiative and shared positive feedback, acknowledging that the session enhanced their understanding of workplace rights, legal safeguards, grievance redressal mechanisms, and the importance of fostering a culture of dignity, respect, and inclusivity.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Diksha Taneja, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, resource persons, organizers, and participants for their valuable contributions towards the successful conduct of the programme.
