Rama University FASAI Students’ Educational Visit to Farmer Fair at CSA University, Kanpur – 6 Nov 2025

An Educational Farmer Fair (Kisan Mela) was organized on 6th November 2025 at Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology, Kanpur, aimed at empowering farmers through education, demonstrations, and the promotion of modern farming practices. B.Sc. (Ag.) second-year students from the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Allied Industries (FASAI), Rama University, visited the fair under the supervision of Dr. Jitendra Kumar and Dr. Syed Mohd. Quatadah.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Sanjay Singh, Director General, UPCAR, who highlighted the importance of adopting scientific methods in agriculture. Students interacted with agricultural scientists, progressive farmers, and agri-business representatives, gaining valuable insights into recent innovations.
Over 80 stalls were set up by agricultural universities, government departments, and private companies displaying seeds, fertilizers, machinery, and sustainable products. Live demonstrations on vermicomposting, bio-fertilizer preparation, drip irrigation, and integrated farming systems provided practical exposure.
More than 3,000 farmers and 1,500 students from about 25 districts participated in the fair, including women farmer groups and young entrepreneurs. The fair also featured free soil testing, consultancy services, and information booths on government schemes like PM-KISAN and crop insurance.
The visit enhanced students’ awareness of sustainable agriculture, new technologies, and government initiatives, fulfilling Rama University’s goal of integrating academic learning with real-world agricultural experiences.
