Rama University Hosts Internal Hackathon 2026 to Foster Innovation, Technology, Creativity and Problem-Solving

The Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), Rama University, Kanpur organized the Internal Hackathon – Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2026 on 11th & 12th September 2026. The event was conducted with the objective of providing students with a platform to demonstrate innovation, creativity, problem-solving ability, teamwork, and technology-driven solutions in the spirit of the Smart India Hackathon initiative. Dr. Renu Verma is Single point of contact (SPOC) from Rama University. Whole event organised in the supervision of Dr. Renu Verma and Kuwar Raghvendra Singh.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The ceremony was conducted in the gracious presence of the respected Deans of all faculty including Prof. (Dr.) Abhay Shukla, Prof. (Dr.) Aneeta Yadav, Prof. (Dr.) Abhishek Gupta, Prof. (Dr.) Jasmi Johnson, Prof. (Dr.) Praveen Kumar Mall, Dr. R. Sujatha, Dr. Manu Kaushik. The Heads of Departments including Prof. (Dr.) Abhay Shukla, Dr. Deeksha Ranjan, Dr. Vivek Srivastava, Dr. Samakshi Verma, Dr. Narendra Kumar, Mr. Satish Parihar, Dr. Dileep Kumar along with faculty members and students were also present on the occasion. The inaugural proceedings emphasized the importance of innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration and the application of knowledge to address real-world challenges.
Following the inauguration, the participating student teams presented their innovative project ideas and proposed solutions before the jury panel. The presentations provided students with an opportunity to explain the problem being addressed, the proposed methodology, technological approach, expected outcomes, and potential societal or practical impact of their solutions. The presentations were evaluated by the Deans, Heads of Departments, and faculty members serving as jury members who assessed the teams based on the quality of the idea, innovation, relevance, feasibility, problem-solving approach, and presentation.
A total of 35 participating team entries were listed for the internal hackathon, including Bio Byte, Solve Sphere, Tech Titans, VETRIX, Build Guard, Vortex Troops, The Gladiators, Alpha coders, Cyber Sharcx, Proto Code, Brute force united, Skill bridge, Koshika Ai, Accidental Engineers, Code Nova, Team Daredevills, AROGYAM, Idea warriors, Agri Revolutioners, The dominators, Team Vishanti, waste warriors, Al nexus, Godlike, Inception, Goal Diggers, Green X, Genz, Ecospark, BioBytes, and Change makers.
The event fostered a culture of innovation, collaborative learning, technological creativity, and entrepreneurial thinking among students. It also enabled participants to gain valuable experience in presenting ideas before an expert academic panel and receiving constructive feedback for further refinement of their projects.
Overall, the Internal Hackathon – Smart India Hackathon 2026 successfully provided students with a meaningful platform to transform ideas into innovative solutions and contribute towards the vision of a smarter and stronger India.
