Rama University, Kanpur Successfully Organises Ph.D. Orientation Programme for July 2026 Batch

The Ph.D. Orientation Programme for the July 2026 Batch was successfully organised by the Ph.D. Cell, Rama University, Kanpur, on 08 August 2026 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Seminar Hall, Vice Chancellor Building, Rama University. The programme was organised with the objective of formally welcoming the newly admitted research scholars and familiarising them with the University's research ecosystem, doctoral academic framework, research policies, institutional guidelines, research ethics, and expectations associated with doctoral research.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Praveen Kumar Mall, Ph.D. Convenor, who formally welcomed the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, senior academic administrators, faculty research coordinators, and newly admitted research scholars. He highlighted the objectives of the orientation programme and emphasised the significance of research ethics, academic discipline, methodological rigour, regular academic engagement, and institutional support in successful doctoral research.
The programme featured an inspiring address by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. Janardhana Amaranath B.J., who motivated the newly admitted research scholars and emphasised the importance of quality research, innovation, academic integrity, interdisciplinary approaches, and research with societal relevance. He encouraged scholars to pursue meaningful and impactful research while maintaining the highest standards of academic and research ethics.
Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar, Dean (R&D), briefed the scholars about the University's research ecosystem, including research policies, available research facilities, publication guidelines, research support mechanisms, and academic expectations from doctoral scholars. He also highlighted the importance of systematic research planning, quality publications, and adherence to institutional and regulatory requirements.
Prof. (Dr.) R. K. Yadav, Controller of Examinations, Rama University, Kanpur, addressed the research scholars and provided valuable guidance regarding academic and examination-related procedures, doctoral coursework requirements, evaluation processes, academic discipline, and compliance with University regulations. His address helped the scholars understand the importance of timely completion of academic requirements and adherence to prescribed examination and evaluation norms. Dr. R. Sujatha, Principal, RMCH&RC, also addressed the gathering and shared valuable perspectives on interdisciplinary research, collaborative academic practices, and the importance of integrating knowledge across disciplines to address contemporary academic and societal challenges.
The orientation programme provided the research scholars with an opportunity to understand the doctoral research journey, academic responsibilities, institutional procedures, research resources, and avenues for academic collaboration. The interactive sessions also helped scholars gain clarity regarding their roles and responsibilities as members of the University's research community.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. (Dr.) Aneeta Yadav, Dean, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Allied Industries, who expressed sincere gratitude to the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, dignitaries, senior administrators, faculty members, research coordinators, and research scholars for their valuable participation and contribution to the successful conduct of the programme.
The programme was efficiently coordinated by Ms. Divya Sengar (Admission Counselor) and Mr.Ashish, whose dedicated efforts contributed to the smooth and effective conduct of the orientation programme.
