Rama University's Dental Sciences Faculty Leaves a Lasting Impression on National Tooth Brushing Day

A free Dental Screening Camp was held at Billabong High International School in Cantt Kanpur by Rama University's Faculty of Dental Sciences in occasion of the Indian Association of Public Health Dentistry's National Tooth Brushing Day. The occasion, which took place on November 10, 2023, demonstrated the university's dedication to oral health in the community.
Under the expert guidance of Dr. Nidhi Pruthi Shukla, Head of the Department (Public Health Dentistry), a dedicated team of doctors and supporting staff commenced the outreach program at 9:00 am, reaching the venue by 10:00 am. The camp aimed to educate and screen students for better oral hygiene practices.
The day-long event witnessed the examination of 332 students, accompanied by a demonstration of proper tooth brushing techniques using a model. Dr. Ariba Tajammul (M.D.S) and interns provided thorough examinations while emphasizing the importance of maintaining good oral health.
Apart from the screenings, the program emphasized on health education and provided children with helpful advice to improve their oral hygiene. The outreach program's efficient coordination and execution were made possible by the cooperative effort with Mr. Subramanyan, the public relations officer.
Dr. Nidhi Pruthi Shukla expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "The National Tooth Brushing Day provides an excellent platform to engage with the community and promote preventive dental care. Our team is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of students through education and awareness."
