Tablet Distribution Ceremony Under Swami Vivekanand Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojna – Mission DigiShakti

To foster digital empowerment among nursing students, Rama College of Nursing, Rama University, Kanpur organized a Free Tablet Distribution Ceremony on 3rd July 2025 under the Swami Vivekanand Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojna, part of the Government of Uttar Pradesh’s ambitious Mission DigiShakti. The objective was to strengthen the academic journey of meritorious students through digital tools, enabling them to access quality education and resources online.
The event began at 10:30 AM in the Seminar Hall of Rama College of Nursing. A total of 130 students from General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) and Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery (ANM) courses received Samsung tablets. These devices are expected to help students enhance their learning through online classes, e-books, video lectures, clinical videos, and other digital academic content.
The ceremony was graced by distinguished guests from various faculties of Rama University. Present at the event were Prof. Dr. Indrajeet Gupta, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, and Dean, Academics & Planning; Prof. Dr. Vaishali Dhingra, Dean, Faculty of Commerce & Management, and IQAC; Prof. Dr. Anita Yadav, Dean, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences; Dr. Jasmi Johnson, Dean & Principal, Rama College of Nursing; and Dr. Minu S. R., Vice Principal, Rama College of Nursing, Rama University. Their inspiring presence and encouraging words motivated the students to make the most of this opportunity.
After the formal addresses, the tablets were distributed to 130 students in an organized manner. The students, filled with excitement and gratitude, expressed how these tablets would help them access digital study material, attend virtual classes, and stay academically updated. Many shared that the initiative would particularly help during clinical postings, where immediate access to disease conditions, drug information, and procedures would enhance their practical understanding.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks to the Government of Uttar Pradesh, the Rama University leadership, and all dignitaries for supporting the academic development of nursing students through this visionary initiative. Group photographs were taken to commemorate the event, followed by informal interactions among the guests, faculty, and students. This event stood as a testament to the commitment of Rama University and the Rama College of Nursing towards integrating technology in nursing education and empowering future healthcare professionals.
