World Environment Day 2025 Celebration

Introduction:
World Environment Day is an annual global event that promotes environmental awareness and encourages collective action towards environmental sustainability. Celebrated on 5th June each year, it highlights various environmental issues and challenges that affect the planet, urging individuals, organizations, and governments to take meaningful action. Bachelor of Physiotherapy Department, Faculty of Paramedical Sciences, Rama University organized a special event to mark this day on 5th June 2025, with an aim to raise awareness among students, faculty, and the community about the importance of environmental protection and sustainable practices.
Objective of the Event:
The event began with an inaugural address by Dr. Manisha Nigam (HOD Emergency medicine Dept. RMCHRC) & Dr. Brijendra Nigam (Dean & Principal FPMS) who emphasized the significance of World Environment Day and how the paramedical sciences sector plays a crucial role in promoting health and well-being, not just through medical interventions but also by addressing environmental factors that contribute to health issues.
Green Initiatives:
Plantation: - A significant portion of the day was dedicated to a plantation drive where students, faculty, and staff planted trees in the college premises. This initiative aimed to contribute to the improvement of local air quality and promote biodiversity.
Waste Management Awareness: Our principal sir gave a talk on reducing, reusing, and recycling in the healthcare environment. He also explained ways to properly segregate medical waste for disposal.

The event featured a Chief guest Dr. Manisha Nigam (HOD of Emergency Medicine Department) a renowned, who delivered a lecture on the impact of healthcare waste on the environment and how paramedics can contribute to reducing that impact.
