World Malaria Day Celebration Promotes Awareness, Prevention, Student Engagement, and Public Health Education at Rama Medical College

Rama Medical College, Mandhana, Kanpur, successfully observed World Malaria Day on 25th April 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from students and faculty members. The event aimed to spread awareness about malaria prevention, its causes, and control measures while encouraging student engagement through educational and interactive activities.
The program commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony accompanied by Saraswati Vandana, setting a positive and auspicious tone for the day. This was followed by a welcome address by the Principal Ma’am and MS Sir, who emphasized the importance of awareness and collective responsibility in combating malaria.
The event was graced by distinguished guests Dr. Aman Tilak (MBBS & MD Nuclear Medicine, AIIMS, Delhi), Dr. Vijay Tilak ( Professor and head, Department of pathology IMS, BHU) and Dr. Ragini Tilak (Professor, Department of Microbiology, IMS,BHU), who played a significant role in guiding and motivating students through an insightful counseling session. Their interaction inspired students to focus on academic excellence and career planning in the medical field.
The program continued with an introduction by anchors, followed by a skit presentation performed by students, creatively highlighting the causes, symptoms, and prevention of malaria. A PPT presentation competition provided a platform for students to showcase their knowledge and research on malaria and public health.
To further engage participants, a competitive quiz and open quiz session were conducted, testing students’ awareness and understanding of malaria-related topics. A short film screening added visual impact to the awareness campaign, reinforcing key messages about prevention and treatment.
The event also included a debate session, where students actively discussed important issues related to malaria control, demonstrating critical thinking and awareness.
The program concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, recognizing the efforts and achievements of participants, followed by a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the esteemed guests, organizers, and participants for making the event successful.
Outcome:
The event effectively enhanced awareness about malaria and encouraged active student participation through various educational and creative activities. The counselling session by the esteemed doctors added immense value by motivating students academically and professionally
