World Oral Health Day 2026 Celebrated with Awareness Activities at Rama University Kanpur Dental Sciences Department

The Department of Periodontology, Faculty of Dental Sciences, Rama University, Kanpur, proudly celebrated World Oral Health Day 2026 form 19th to 25th March 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from both students and staff. The event was conducted under the esteemed guidance of Prof. & Head Dr. Janardhana Amaranath B. J., along with Dr.Shruti Gupta, Dr. Anishka Dhanai, Dr.Anita Mathur, and Dr. Neebha Kumari, making the occasion truly meaningful and successful.
A variety of activities were organized to promote awareness about oral and periodontal health. An oral health screening and free dental check-up camp was conducted both within and outside the department, providing patients and visitors an opportunity to assess their oral health status. Educational pamphlets, along with toothbrushes and toothpaste samples, were distributed to spread awareness regarding proper oral hygiene practices.
A special highlight of the celebration was a creative rangoli depicting implantology as a modern solution for replacement of missing teeth, beautifully conveying the importance of advanced periodontal care in restoring smiles.
An informative lecture on the topic “Gum Care: Protecting Your Smile through Healthy Gums” was delivered to educate participants about the significance of maintaining healthy gums. Additionally, free oral prophylaxis was provided within the department, along with live demonstrations on correct tooth-brushing techniques and the use of interdental cleaning aids to reinforce good oral hygiene habits.
The celebration was successfully carried out with the objective of educating and motivating the public about the vital role of oral hygiene and periodontal health in overall well-being. The organizing chairperson, Dr. Janardhana Amaranath B. J, expressed sincere gratitude to all faculty members, postgraduate and undergraduate students, interns, and dental hygienist students for their dedicated efforts and enthusiastic participation.
The department also extends heartfelt thanks to the Indian Society of Periodontology for their continuous support and guidance in making the event a grand success.
