World Sight Day Event 2025
Faculty of Paramedical Sciences organised an awareness event on the occasion of World Sight Day on 14th OCT 2025 under the theme laid this year by World Health Organization “ Love Your Eyes”. The program was conducted between 09:30 am to 01:30pm at LT-03, 4th Floor Faculty Allied & Health Care Sciences. A total of 120 students from BOPTO & Diploma courses along with faculties Dr. Nidhi Shukla, Dr. Nidhi Agarwal D, Dr. Gulwish Sadique, Mrs. Swastika Singh Chandel and Mr. Satyendra Singh Sachan participated.
Introduction
World Sight Day, observed annually in October, aims to raise awareness about vision impairment and blindness. This year’s theme, “Love Your Eyes,” served as a powerful reminder of the importance of eye health. The celebration at [Faculty Allied & Health Care Sciences Dept. of Optometry] brought together students, faculty, and health professionals to promote awareness and educate the community about eye care.

- Opening Ceremony
- The celebration kicked off with a welcome address by [Dr. Brijendra Nigam, Principal & Dean FAHS], who highlighted the significance of eye health and the global challenges related to vision impairment.
- Guest Speakers
- We had the honour of hosting [Dr Ruchika Agarwal], an eye care specialist who discussed the impact of vision loss and the importance of regular eye check-ups.
- Awareness Campaign
- An awareness campaign featured informative posters that covered topics such as common eye diseases, preventive measures, and the importance of eye examinations.
- Students were encouraged to participate in eye health quizzes and activities.
- Cultural Program
- A cultural segment featured performances by students, including skits, dance and, Poetry that creatively conveyed messages about the importance of eye health and accessibility for visually impaired individuals.
- A Poster presentation Competition, Poster Making Competition, Quiz Competition
- Closing Ceremony
- The event concluded with closing remarks by [Mr. Satyendra Singh Sachan], summarizing key takeaways and encouraging participants to prioritize eye health in their daily lives. Along with announcement of competition winner Prize distribution.

Participants expressed gratitude for the informative sessions and highlighted the need for continued awareness initiatives, with many attendees advocating for future events focusing on health and well-being.
Conclusion
The World Sight Day celebration at [4th Floor ] effectively raised awareness about vision health and encouraged proactive care among students and faculty.
