Celebration of National Sports Day On August 29, 2016

The National Sports Day in India is celebrated on August 29 every year. This day marks the birthday of Dhyan Chand, the hockey player who won gold medals in Olympics for India in the years 1928,1932 and 1936. Games and sports are not only important for success in home but it is important for success in every walks of our life. Games and sports include all outdoor and indoor games and also athletics. In ancient Greece they formed the principal part of education. In the advanced countries of the present day also they are a regular feature of the school and college curriculum. Kho kho is a tag sport from the Indian subcontinent. It is played by teams of twelve players, of which nine enter the field, who try to avoid being touched by members of the opposition team. It is one of the two most popular traditional tag games of the South Asia, the other being kabbadi. Apart from the South Asia, it is also played in South Africa.
Therefore, in this regard-
The Faculty of Commerce & Management, Rama University Uttar Pradesh, Kanpur organized a Kho-Kho Game on August 29, 2016. The programme was initiated with National Anthem where there all students and faculty members were present. The programme has successfully completed. In the game, students of different classes were participated and played well. The senior students teams (MBA 2nd & BBA 3rd Year) were the winner and of the game. End of the event, the honorable Vice-Chancellor of the university, Dean, FCM and Coordinator of the programe were presented and they have encouraged to the student’s involvement in the game. The honorable Vice-Chancellor of the university distributed the shield & certificates to the winning and runner up team. Meanwhile, the entire faculty members and media person had their valuable presence for encouraging to the students. The game was structured as well as organized by Mr. K.P. Singh (Coordinator) under the guardianship of the Dr. Divya Chowdhry (Dean, FCM).
