Industrial visit to National Sugar Institute, Kanpur

An Industrial visit was carried out by the Department of Biotechnology, FET, Rama University, Kanpur at National Sugar Institute, Kanpur on 13th February, 2017 for B. Tech. Biotechnology (VI Sem.), B.Sc. Biotechnology (VI Sem.) and M.Sc. Biotechnology (II Sem.). This visit provided students with an opportunity to grasp aspectual knowledge related to sugar, alcohol and fermentation industries and researches. The main objective behind the visit was to make student aware about how various activities related to Sugar Processing Techniques and Ethanol and Beer production. They interacted with Dr. Narendra Mohan, Director, NSI and Mr. Ashok Kumar Garg, Asstt. Professor and discussed about the current scenario of Sugar Technology, Sugar Engineering and alcohol/ beer production in India.
All the arrangements for the visit were managed by Dr. Ajay Kumar, Head, Department of Biotechnology, FET, Rama University, Kanpur. The students were accompanied by three faculties from the department Dr. Vivek Srivastava, Mr. Vachaspati Rao and Ms. Sapna Jain.
This visit is highly productive for the students because they have learnt industrial application of biotechnology. This visit was our creative steps towards the sustained development of biotechnology students of Rama University.
