This event was organized for the class IVth employees of the institution's Rama Group, under Rama University, and aimed to raise awareness that Leprosy is curable and the related stigma should end. Also, that disease genuinely affects an individual's psychological wellbeing .
The event began with an introductory speech addressed by Mr. Vivek Ojha (B.Sc. Nursing IV Year Student). Awareness was created by B.Sc. (Nursing) IVth Year students through role-playing. They discussed general information on Leprosy , manifestations, clarification on the related myths and lies, treatment, and preventive strategies for the same. They also showed the advanced treatment modalities available to treat Leprosy. At the end of this program was a discussion with people to clear their doubts. The event was concluded with refreshments and a thank you speech from Mr. Vivek Ojha.
It was an opportunity for everyone to come together and raise awareness about Leprosy. On World Leprosy Day, we raised public awareness of Leprosy, including the medical and social implications of the disease and the rights of persons affected.
We thank all active members for their enthusiastic participation and the Faculty of Nursing, Department of Community Health Nursing for making this awareness program a great success.
