Mission
Mission Shakti is a flagship initiative of the Uttar Pradesh Government aimed at empowering women and promoting gender equality. Under its Phase-5, the program has expanded its focus on “Women’s Health and Cancer”, emphasizing the message that unity, collaboration, and awareness can significantly contribute to the fight against cancer. The objective of the event was to raise awareness about the impact of cancer on women’s health, highlighted the significance of early detection, and discusses strategies for improving cancer care for women.
Event Highlights:
The event commenced with an inaugural ceremony at the Seminar Hall of the Faculty of Nursing. The ceremony was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Neelam Jain, Nodal Officer of Mission Shakti Phase-5, Dr. Jasmi Johnson, Dean, Faculty of Nursing and Keynote Speaker Dr. Virendra Singh Chaudhary, Principal of Sri Vidhyawati College of Nursing, Jhansi along with other esteemed faculty members of the University. The event was officially inaugurated by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the commencement of the event and the spreading of knowledge.
Health Awareness Lecture: As part of Mission Shakti Phase-5, an awareness lecture focusing on women's health was delivered by Dr. Virendra Singh Chaudhary, Principal of Sri Vidhyawati College of Nursing, Jhansi. Dr. Chaudhary elaborated on the importance of women's health, especially in the context of cancer. He highlighted the unique challenges faced by women with cancer, including the need for targeted care, psychological support, and the role of health professionals in fostering awareness about early detection and prevention. His speech underscored the vital role of education in improving women's health outcomes and the collective responsibility of healthcare providers to address cancer-related issues.
Conclusion:
The day's event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Ms. S. Sumiya, Associate Professor, Faculty of Nursing expressing gratitude to the chief guest, the organizing team, faculty members, and the students for their enthusiasm and participation. The event was formally adjourned with the national anthem, emphasizing unity and respect for the cause. This lecture served as an essential platform for raising awareness about women's health and cancer, particularly in the context of early detection and prevention. It also emphasized the importance of collaboration between healthcare professionals to improve care outcomes for women diagnosed with cancer. The success of the event was a testament to the value of ongoing education and community involvement in the fight against cancer.
