Barclays and Rama University Join Hands to Enhance Employability Skills of Students

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Barclays and the Faculty of Commerce & Management (FCM) at Rama University has successfully completed its execution phase. The programme aims to provide students with essential employability skills. The inaugural session, held on May 12, 2023 and marked the commencement of a four-day "Skill Development Training" program, under the direction of renowned trainers. The four-day, 24-hour training session had been scheduled on May 12 to May 16, 2023. Barclays has covered the program's expenses, making attendance free for all qualified students.
The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Janardhana Amaranath B.J, Vice Chancellor of Rama University, along with Prof. (Dr.) Hariom Sharan, Dean Academic Affairs, Dr. Manish Dhingra, Dean (R&D), Prof. (Dr.) Vaishali Dhingra, Dean FCM, and the dedicated faculty members of FCM.
The program's main goal is to improve students' chances of finding employment by teaching them valuable life skills. Their candidates of success in the job market are intended to be greatly increased by the thorough training sessions. Students that take part in this effort acquire a competitive advantage that will help them succeed in their professions.
Barclays, renowned for its expertise in the banking and financial services industry, took charge of the training program. The sessions were meticulously designed to cover various aspects crucial for professional growth. Topics such as effective communication, problem-solving, team collaboration, time management, and adaptability were addressed during the training.
Over the four-day program, students had the privilege of learning from four highly acclaimed trainers. Mr. Suchiter Sharma and Mr. Keshav Bhatia, both based in New Delhi, conducted sessions on May 12th and 13th, focusing on core employability skills. On May 15th, Ms. Preeti Mehrotra delivered an insightful session, while Mr. Yash Chauhan concluded the training program on May 16th.
Students may participate in the GTT Foundation's mentorship initiative for a year after successfully completing the skill development training. This extra assistance attempts to strengthen students' job chances by providing career counselling and support. The participants will continue to get continuing support and inspiration from the Barclays Engagement Sessions and Booster Sessions.
