Empowering a Ragging-Free Campus: Rama Dental College's Successful One-Week Anti-Ragging Initiative

At Rama Dental College, we take pride in nurturing not just dental professionals, but also responsible and compassionate individuals. In our continuous endeavor to create a safe and inclusive learning environment, we recently organized a highly impactful One-Week Anti-Ragging Program, from 12th to 18th August 2023. Led by esteemed coordinators, Dr. Baljeet Singh Hora, Dr. Rahul Srivastava, and Dr. Zeba Siddiqui, this initiative marked a significant step towards eradicating the scourge of ragging from our campus.

Raising Awareness and Transforming Attitudes

Ragging, a practice that has no place in our educational institutions, can have dire physical and psychological consequences for the victims. Our Anti-Ragging Program, aligned with the guidelines of the Dental Council of India (as per notification DCI/ARPM/ARC/ARM/Gen/167/2023-24/2023/2897 dated 1/8/2023), was meticulously crafted to address this concern head-on.

Orientation Seminar: The program commenced with an enlightening orientation seminar, attended by both freshers and existing students. This session shed light on our stringent anti-ragging policies and the legal ramifications associated with ragging-related activities.

Poster and Slogan Competition: Encouraging artistic expression as a powerful medium of communication, we organized an engaging poster and slogan competition. This artistic endeavor not only empowered students to express their thoughts on ragging but also reinforced the anti-ragging message across our campus.

Peer Mentorship Program: Recognizing the significance of peer support, we launched a peer mentorship program. Our seasoned senior students donned the role of mentors, extending a guiding hand to newcomers. This initiative cultivated a welcoming and nurturing atmosphere for all.
