Empowering Daughters through Nukkad Natak

The Department of Journalism & Mass Communication at Rama University, Kanpur, recently organized a thought-provoking and impactful nukkad natak (street play) event, spreading the message "Na Sirf Beti Bachao, Beti Padhaao, Unko AatmNirbhar Banaao." The event, held on November 1st and 2nd, 2023, garnered significant attention and resonated with the community.
The first day of the event saw compelling performances within the university campus, taking place at the FET Ground and the Main Gate of Rama University. The enthusiastic response from the audience, comprising students, faculty, and staff, emphasized the importance of empowering daughters.
On the second day, the nukkad natak reached beyond the campus boundaries and was performed at Parmat, near Anandeshwar Temple, engaging with the local community. The event aimed to spread the message of "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhaao" and "Beti Ko AatmNirbhar Banaao" to a broader audience.
Dr. Niranjan Kumar, the Dean of Mass Communication & Journalism, emphasized the significance of empowering daughters to be self-reliant and highlighted the importance of the "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhaao" initiative. He stressed the role of students as future communicators and influencers in conveying these vital messages to society.
Assistant Professor Swati Gupta, Avinash Kumar, and Kavita Verma from the Department of Journalism & Mass Communication provided support and assistance to the students during the activity. Their active involvement with the performers and the audience emphasized the need to convey these important messages creatively.
