Nurses Week, celebrated annually from May 6th to May 12th, is a time to recognize and celebrate the invaluable contributions of nurses to society. It's a week-long observance that highlights the dedication, compassion, and expertise of nurses who provide care and comfort to patients and communities. The week, which kicks off with International Nurses Day on May 12th, is a chance to express gratitude for these healthcare heroes.
MEDICATION MATH RACE
The Faculty of Nursing, Rama University, commenced the International Nurses Week Celebration 2025 with a series of exciting competitions starting from 6th May 2025. The first event of the series was the Medication Math Race, held at 10:00 AM in the Seminar Hall of the Faculty of Nursing.
A total of 38 enthusiastic participants took part in the competition. The Medication Math Race was designed in two progressive stages, beginning with simple calculations and advancing to more complex problem-solving tasks. This structure allowed participants to demonstrate their medication calculation skills effectively and under timed conditions.
The winners were determined through a rigorous evaluation process conducted by a panel of expert judges, ensuring fairness and accuracy in the results.
The event concluded with a heartfelt thank-you note extended to all participants and organizers for their valuable contributions and spirited involvement in making the event a success.
A.V. AIDS EXHIBITION
As part of the ongoing International Nurses Week Celebration 2025, the Faculty of Nursing, Rama University, organized the AV Aids Exhibition as the second event on Day 1, held on 6th May 2025. The exhibition began at 2:15 PM with a formal inauguration ceremony graced by Dr. Jasmi Johnson, Principal, Dr. Minu S.R., Vice Principal, along with all the Heads of Departments and faculty members.
The exhibition saw enthusiastic participation from students of B.Sc. Nursing, General Nursing and Midwifery, and Auxiliary Nurse Midwife programs. A total of 45 educational models were presented, each created and demonstrated by the students. The exhibits covered a wide range of nursing subjects, including:Anatomy & Physiology, Mental Health Nursing, Adult Health Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing, Nursing Management.
Each student group displayed live models and audiovisual aids that were both innovative and informative, reflecting their in-depth understanding of theoretical and clinical concepts. The models were carefully crafted to serve as effective teaching tools and were explained confidently by the students to the visiting faculty, peers, and evaluators.
At the conclusion of the event, Principal Dr. Jasmi Johnson addressed the gathering and extended her appreciation to all the students and organizers for their hard work, creativity, and teamwork. She emphasized the importance of such interactive learning methods in enhancing clinical education and communication skills.
Additionally, feedback was collected from all participants, including students, faculty, and guests. The responses highlighted the educational value, clarity of presentation, and the overall organization of the exhibition as commendable.
The AV Aids Exhibition successfully met its objectives of encouraging student engagement, enhancing subject knowledge, and fostering creativity and collaboration among future nursing professionals.
