The program started with the arrival of Gram Pradhan, Mr. Kishan Sonkar, with all the villagers in the village secretariat, village Shadipur, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
The farmers of this region usually grow wheat, Mustard, and some vegetable crops along with livestock. Faculty members of the Department of Agricultural Sciences and Allied Industries delivered knowledge about the latest agricultural technologies like improved seeds, cultural practices, integrated disease, and pest management practices.
Around 50 farmers were present there, and they actively participated in the event. There was an open session where the farmers interacted with the faculty members who were the expert of their concerned subject.
Most of the queries were of termite management and protection of crops from extreme weather and animal infestations.
The students of B.Sc. agriculture hosted the event, and the farmers appreciated it and suggested organizing these events in the future. Overall it was a successful event.
