Faculty of Paramedical Sciences Organizes World Heart Day Awareness Event

On September 28, 2024, the Faculty of Paramedical Sciences at Rama University marked World Heart Day with a vibrant awareness event under this year’s theme, “Use Heart for Action,” as set by the World Health Organization. The event, conducted at LT-01, RMC, gathered 254 students from various paramedical courses, including BPT, BMLT, and BOPTO, alongside 8 faculty members.
The session, which ran from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Brijendra Nigam, who emphasized the increasing incidence of cardiovascular issues in young adults. He shared valuable insights into maintaining heart health and advocated for lifestyle changes to prevent such disorders. His address highlighted “10 commandments” for heart health, stressing the importance of a healthy diet, stress management, and regular physical activity.
The event was further enhanced by the presence of Dr. C. M Varma, Dean of the Cardiology Department at Rama Hospital and Research Centre, who discussed the benefits of promoting mobility among youth and encouraged active engagement in heart health awareness.
The program included a variety of student-led activities such as:
- Poster-making competitions featuring students from BPT, BMLT, and BOPTO
- A play performed by Optometry students illustrating the significance of heartbeats and CPR techniques
- A short film by BPT IV-year students showcasing the effects of unhealthy habits on individual and family well-being
- A poetry session by Zoya, a BMLT student
- An informative presentation on Atherosclerosis by Gayatri Yadav, a BPT third-year student
The event concluded with a pledge by students and faculty to maintain heart health and raise awareness within their communities, reaffirming their commitment to healthy lifestyles and heart care advocacy.
