The faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Rama University, organized an expert lecture on " An Introduction and Career Opportunities in Biomedical Engineering " on May 16, 2022, at 09:30 AM. The expert speaker was Dr. Akhilesh K Shakya, Ph.D., Research Assistant Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, Texas Tech University, Lubbock Texas, United States.
The lecture was attended by more than 350 students and most of the faculty members of Rama University. Further details of the event are as mentioned below:

About the Event:
The expert speaker was heartily welcomed by Ms. Arpita Choudhary, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Rama University. Our expert speaker Dr. Akhilesh K Shakya has more than 10 years of rich experience in the research field. He is a skilled professional with a productive track record in interdisciplinary research and teaching pertaining to biomedicine, bioengineering, and biotechnology. He has demonstrated his skills through supervising undergraduate and graduate students, high-impact peer-reviewed publications, extramural research funding, and global collaboration.
Later the event was addressed by Dr. Kamran Javed Naqvi, Head, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences who welcomed and highlighted the achievements and expertise of the expert.
In the beginning, Dr. Akhilesh K Shakya, introduced Biomedical Engineering, the application of engineering principles and design concepts to medicine and biology for healthcare purposes. The session was very interactive, and students participated enthusiastically.
As per the feedback received from the participants, it was an excellent learning experience; the lecture helped the students understand all the minutes related to Biomedical engineering, scope and career, all the courses, and the medical technology related to biomedical engineering.
The session ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Kamran Javed Naqvi, HoD (Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences) soliciting the participation of the expert concerned in other future scientific sessions also.
