National Voters’ Day Awareness Drive Organized by Faculty of Juridical Sciences

To commemorate National Voters’ Day 2025, the Faculty of Juridical Sciences, Rama University, organized a Voter Awareness Drive in Markhara Village, Chaubepur, Kanpur, on 25th January 2025. Under the guidance of Dr. Praveen Kumar Mall (Dean-FJS), the initiative aimed to educate residents about voting rights, electoral participation, and India’s legal election framework. The drive focused on empowering first-time voters and marginalized communities to actively engage in the democratic process.
The event began with an inauguration by Mr. Rahul Singh, Faculty Coordinator, who stressed the importance of voting in democracy. Local leaders and elders also supported the initiative. Faculty and students conducted sessions on Constitutional provisions (Articles 324-329), Representation of the People Act, 1951. Over 200 villagers, including first-time voters and women, attended the drive.
Objective of the Awareness Drive:
- Highlight voting as a constitutional right and duty.
- Educate villagers on voter registration and election laws.
- Encourage first-time voters to participate in elections.
- Address voter apathy, misinformation, and accessibility challenges.
