World Breastfeeding Week 2024 is being celebrated globally from August 1st to 7th, with the theme "Closing the Gap: Breastfeeding Support for All." This week aims to raise awareness about the importance of breastfeeding and to promote the support necessary for breastfeeding families worldwide.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecological nursing at the Faculty of Nursing, Rama University, Kanpur, UP, is organizing several activities to commemorate this important week.
- Extension Activity in the Community (Shivrajpur): This event aims to engage with the local community to promote awareness and understanding of the benefits of breastfeeding.
- Quiz Competition and Expert Lecture: Held in the Seminar Hall of the Faculty of Nursing, these activities will focus on "Normalizing Breastfeeding: Breaking down Cultural and Social Barriers." The events will include a quiz competition to test knowledge and an expert lecture to discuss the societal challenges and solutions for promoting breastfeeding.
