Rama University Hosts Quiz Competition to Celebrate World Breastfeeding Week

In celebration of World Breastfeeding Week 2024, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing at Rama University, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, organized an informative quiz competition. The event took place on August 7, 2024, from 10 AM to 12 PM at the Seminar Hall of Rama College of Nursing. Students from B.Sc. Nursing 4th year, GNM 3rd year, and ANM 2nd year actively participated in the competition.
Enthusiastic Participation and Engagement
The competition was inaugurated by Mrs. Priyanka Agrawal, along with faculty members Ms. Shobha, Ms. Garima, and Ms. Angelina from the OBG Department, Faculty of Nursing. The quiz focused on the theme of breastfeeding support, aligning with the global theme "Closing the Gap: Breastfeeding Support for All."
Questions were prepared to challenge and educate the students on various aspects of breastfeeding. Participants were divided into five groups, each comprising five members, ensuring a collaborative and competitive spirit.
Winners and Awards
The participants showcased enthusiasm and knowledge, engaging actively and providing insightful answers during the quiz. The jury, consisting of Mrs. K. Jyothisree and Mr. Mohsin Kamal, evaluated the performances. The "Taylor's Group," featuring Isha Singh, Anamika Pal, Annayat Bashir, Shivani, and Pooja Kannaujiya, won the first prize, awarded by Principal Prof. Dr. Jasmi Manu.
Valedictory Session Highlights
Following the quiz, a valedictory session was held, where GNM 3rd-year students performed a role play focused on Breastfeeding Week 2024, highlighting the importance and challenges of breastfeeding. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Shobha Rao, Faculty of Obstetrics and Gynecological Nursing, expressing gratitude to all participants and organizers for their contributions.
This event not only educated students on the vital aspects of breastfeeding but also fostered a sense of community and awareness, contributing to the global efforts in promoting breastfeeding support for all.
