Rama Dental College, Kanpur Hosts Successful CDE & Workshop on Dental Research Reference Management

The Department of Public Health Dentistry at Rama Dental College, Hospital, and Research Centre, Kanpur, recently concluded a comprehensive Continuing Dental Education (CDE) & Workshop event titled "REFERENCE MANAGEMENT IN DENTAL RESEARCH, USING ZOTERO REFERENCE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE". Held from 4th to 6th March 2024, the initiative aimed to equip dental professionals with advanced skills in reference management, leveraging the Zotero software.
Under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Asheesh Sawhney, Principal of Rama Dental College, and the dedicated leadership of Dr. Nidhi Shukla, Head of Department, alongside esteemed faculty members Dr. Vaibhav Bansal, Dr. Rohma Yusuf, and Dr. G. Charu Chitra, the workshop provided participants with in-depth insights and hands-on training on utilizing Zotero for efficient reference management in dental research.
The workshop covered essential topics including an introduction to referencing, various referencing styles, setup of Zotero, in-text citations, automatic bibliography creation, and effective reference management techniques. Led by Dr. Vaibhav Bansal and Dr. G. Charu Chitra, the sessions were complemented with practical demonstrations, ensuring active engagement and enhanced learning experiences.
With an impressive turnout of 117 registered participants, including faculty, postgraduate students, and interns, the event showcased a collaborative effort within the department to deliver a successful workshop. The organizers expressed gratitude to Rama University for providing the platform and support for conducting the workshop, which was accredited with 9 CDE points by the U.P State Dental Council.
Feedback from participants highlighted the workshop's efficacy in addressing practical challenges in dental research, particularly in mastering referencing styles and utilizing Zotero software effectively. The event underscored Rama Dental College's commitment to advancing dental education and fostering professional development among its stakeholders.
