Rama University Celebrates International Women’s Day Week with a Rejuvenating Yoga Session

On the second day of the Women’s Day Week Celebration-2025 at Rama University, Kanpur, a transformative yoga session was conducted by the Faculty of Nursing to celebrate International Women’s Day 2025. This session was designed around the theme “Accelerate Action”, encouraging women to take active steps towards personal empowerment, self-care, and well-being. Yoga, a practice known for its ability to bring balance and mindfulness, was chosen as the perfect medium to honor these values.
The event took place in the serene and peaceful surroundings of the Yoga Center at Rama University. It was attended by a diverse group of participants, including the esteemed Deans of various university departments, faculty members, and students from the Rama University. The morning began with a warm and inspiring address by Dr. Guru Prasad, Dean of the Faculty of Ayurveda. His speech set the tone for the session, reflecting on the importance of holistic well-being and the deep connection between mind, body, and spirit.
Following Dr. Guru Prasad’s address, the session was led by the highly skilled and experienced yoga instructor, Dr. Anurag. With his guidance, participants were taken through a series of yoga asana (postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises) that were designed to strengthen the body, calm the mind, and enhance mental clarity. The practice emphasized flexibility, strength, and inner peace, offering participants the opportunity to reconnect with themselves and with the earth a reminder of the nurturing and sustaining role that women have historically played in society.
