Seminar on Empower Parents, Enable Breast-Feeding conducted

As a part of World Breastfeeding Week 2019, Rama University Faculty of Nursing, Kanpur organized a seminar on Empower Parents, Enable Breastfeeding; Now and for the Future by Department of O.B.G and Pediatric Nursing on 7th August 2019 at Seminar Hall, Rama College of Nursing.
200 delegates from various nursing batches attended the Seminar. Mrs. Veena Dolly Singh, Matron LLR Hospital, Kanpur, Dr.Prabhat Ranjan, Registrar Rama University, Dr.Bhargav Chief Medical Officer, Rama Hospital and Research Center and Mrs.A.C.Singh, Dean faculty of Nursing inaugurated and presided the seminar with their motivational speech. The seminar started with the invocation song followed by lightening the traditional lamp by the dignitaries and resource persons. All dignitaries were felicitated With welcome address by Mrs. Aakankha Bajpai.
The session began with an introduction to the theme of the seminar by Chairperson Mrs. Jasmi Manu, H.O.D OBS/GYN Nursing. Resource persons were from various departments of Nursing. Mrs. Veena Dolly Singh, Matron LLR hospital Kanpur discussed the topic ‘’Overview of current year theme of World Breastfeeding Week’’. Mrs.Usha Rani Kandula, H.O.D, FON Department, Mr. Keshavareddy ,Professor and Head of Community Health Nursing Department, Mr.Raghavendran H.O.D Medical Surgical Nursing, Mrs. Minu S.R H.OD Pediatric Nursing on the topic of objectives of world breastfeeding week 2019”. Mrs. Andal, the Research Coordinator gave an informative talk on “breastfeeding campaign”. Mrs. Divya Diwedi contributed her views on “exclusive breastfeeding” and Mrs.Aakanksha Bajpai unfolded the topic of issues and techniques of breastfeeding. Mrs.Jasmi Manu Chairperson of the seminar summarized the sessions. All resource persons have given their valuable knowledge on breastfeeding.
The prize distribution ceremony was organized for the various competitions which were held from 1st to 6th August 2019. It was honoured by our dignitaries.The seminar was adjourned with a vote of thanks by Ms. Nandhini, Tutor Pediatric Nursing Department and followed by National Anthem.
