The Department of Periodontology, Rama Dental College Hospital, and research center celebrated Oral Hygiene Day on 1 August 2021 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. G. B. Shankwalkar, the doyen of Indian Periodontics, by organizing an Oral health awareness campaign for all the patients visiting our Institute. The further details of this event are mentioned below.

About the Event:
The day began by offering floral tribute to the portrait of Dr. Shankwalkar. The importance of oral health in the community was stressed by organizing a rally and distributing oral hygiene awareness pamphlets to the public. The demonstration of the brushing technique was done on models for patients to improve their oral hygiene maintenance.
Also, an e-poster competition with the theme “Oral hygiene and systemic health” was organized for the students to improve their understanding regarding the systemic impact of periodontal disease.
