The International Conference on Emerging Trends in Agriculture & Allied Sectors for Sustainable Development at RU

Rama University's Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Allied Industries marked a significant milestone with the successful inauguration of the "International Conference on Emerging Trends in Agriculture & Allied Sectors for Sustainable Development" on December 8, 2023.
The inaugural ceremony, graced by eminent personalities in the field, commenced with a lamp lighting ceremony by distinguished guests, including Chief Guest Dr. Sanjay Singh, Director General, Uttar Pradesh Council of Agricultural Research (UPCAR) Gov. of Uttar Pradesh, and Special Guest (Prof.) Dr. Munish Gangwar, Dean, College of Forestry, CSAUA&T, Kanpur.
Honorable dignitaries present at the event included Dr. Janardan Amarnath B.J., Vice Chancellor, Rama University; Dr. Prateek Singh, Director, Rama University; Dr. Hari Om Sharan, Dean Academics and Planning, Rama University; Dr. Aneeta Yadav, Chairperson & Dean, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Allied Industries (FAS&AI); and Dr. Kartikay Bisen, Organizing Secretary, FAS&AI.
The ceremony featured a welcome address by Dr. Aneeta Yadav, who extended a warm welcome to the esteemed guests and participants. International speakers Dr. Vishnu D. Rajput and Dr. Chetan Keswani from Southern Federal University, Russia, virtually joined to share their insights.
Dr. Sanjay Singh, in his special remarks, emphasized the crucial role of Farmers Producer Organizations (FPOs) in enhancing farmers' profitability. He highlighted the importance of extension workers in technological dissemination and stressed the need for high seed replacement ratios and the adoption of innovative farming techniques.
A highlight of the event was the felicitation of Mr. Ram Singh Patel Ji, an innovative farmer from Fatehpur district, Uttar Pradesh, recognized for his outstanding contributions to agriculture.
The conference saw active participation from a large number of agricultural scientists, researchers, scholars, and farmers over the two days, fostering valuable discussions on emerging trends in agriculture.
Dr. Kartikay Bisen, Organizing Secretary, delivered the vote of thanks, and the event concluded with the national anthem.
The inaugural ceremony marked a successful beginning to the international conference, providing a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration in the pursuit of sustainable agricultural development.
