“Inaugural Ceremony of One-Week Faculty Development Program on Intellectual Property Rights and Wealth Creation Organized by Rama University”
Rama University, in collaboration with Institutions Innovation Council, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, and Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Allied Industries, successfully conducted the Inaugural Ceremony of a One-Week Faculty Development Program on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Wealth Creation on April 24, 2023.
With great enthusiasm and anticipation, Rama University proudly hosted the inaugural ceremony. The event witnessed a gathering of esteemed dignitaries and guests, including Dr. Prateek Singh and Dr. Pranav Singh, Directors of Rama University, Dr. Hari Om Sharan, President of Institution Innovation Council, Mr. R.K. Yadav, Controller of Examinations, and the esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. B.K SARKAR, Founder of GEH Research and ADBIGA Innovation. The ceremony was graced by Dr. C.S. Raghuvanshi, Innovation Ambassador of Institution Innovation Council, Rama University, Mandhana, Kanpur, and Dr. Aneeta Yadav, Dean of FASAI & Convener of FDP, along with Deans, HoD's, and faculty members from various faculties of Rama University. The stage was set for an engaging and informative program that aimed to empower the faculty members with the knowledge and skills to harness the potential of intellectual property rights for wealth creation.
About the first day of Faculty Development Program
The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp by esteemed dignitaries and chief guest, Dr. B.K. Sarkar, Founder of GEH Research and ADBIGA Innovation. Dr. Hari Om Sharan, President of Institution Innovation Council, Rama University, delivered the welcome speech, followed by an address by Dr. C.S. Raghuvanshi, Innovation Ambassador of Institution Innovation Council and Head of CSE, Faculty of Engineering and Technology.
Dr. B.K. Sarkar, an internationally renowned expert with a vast experience of over 25 years in various domains of computer science and innovation, shared valuable insights on IPR and best practices in integrating IPR in the innovation cycle. He highlighted the importance of patents, copyrights, trademarks, and researchers' rights, and emphasized the need for renewing IPR from time to time to keep them enforced. Dr. Sarkar has an impressive track record of 881 national patents, 122 international patents, and 26 commercialized patents worth Rs. 77.44 Cr. He has also published numerous research papers and received over 20 prestigious awards in his field.
The Chief Guest, Dr. B.K. Sarkar, was felicitated with a Certificate of Gratefulness on behalf of Institution Innovation Council for his valuable contribution to the event. The ceremony was a resounding success, with faculty members from various faculties of Rama University actively participating and enriching their knowledge on IPR and wealth creation.
At the conclusion of the first day of the programme, Dr. Aneeta Yadav, dean of the university's department of agricultural sciences and allied industries and convener of the FDP, gave a special vote of gratitude and thanked all the dignitaries and participants for their remarkable efforts.
Aim of the program
The Faculty Development Program aims to create awareness and impart knowledge about the significance of IPR in achieving economic growth and gaining a competitive advantage in a market-driven economy. The program provides valuable information on patentability criteria, innovation to commercialization, and the viable aspects of patents. This programme is designed specifically for faculty members who want to improve their knowledge and abilities in intellectual property rights, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Throughout the week, the participants engaging with interactive sessions, workshops, and discussions, gaining in-depth knowledge about various aspects of IPR and its applications in different domains, the program also includes hands-on exercises, case studies, and group activities to enhance learning and practical understanding.
