Workshop: "Agribusiness Opportunities in Pulses" at ICAR-IIPR Kanpur

Main Content: A workshop on “Agribusiness opportunities in Pulses” was organized on 27th September 2022 by Agribusiness Incubation Unit, ICAR-Indian Institute of Pulses Research, Kanpur at the institute auditorium. The basic objective of the workshop was to sensitize the students of agriculture, management, and technology courses about the available entrepreneurial avenues related to pulses and also the incubation support services at the institute.
Dr. Bansa Singh, Director, ICAR-Indian Institute of Pulses Research, Kanpur conveyed the expanding entrepreneurial ecosystem and encouraged students to leverage the available on-shelf technologies related to pulse crops for building enterprises. Dr. Uma Sah, In-charge the Agri-Business Innovation unit briefed us about the existing incubation support facilities for startups. Dr. Aditya Pratap, In-charge ITMU presented an account of technologies available at the institute for commercial use. Mentors of the Agri-Business Innovation unit, Dr. Prasoon Verma, Dr. Senthil, Dr. R.K. Mishra, and Dr. P.K. Katiyar deliberated upon the merging entrepreneurial opportunities in pulse processing, value addition, bio-fertilizer production, production of bio-control agents and seed production of pulse crops. The participating students showed keen interest in the deliberation and took an active part in the interaction sessions.
Dr. Aneeta Yadav, Dean Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Allied Industries, and Prof. C.S. Raghuvanshi, In-charge institute innovation council, Dr. A.S. Yadav, Assistant Professor, FAS&AI, Rama University, Kanpur along with Mr. Jitendra Ojha, Mohit Katiyar from ABI unit were also present on the occasion. The workshop was attended by more than 200 students along with 4 faculty members of Rama University, Kanpur.
